You can enter Kangaroo Country from two locations – either from the treetops of Koala Forest or via a gate near the nature play/main playground area.

We are invited to the opening to explore the new space. The grass is luscious and there’s plenty of room for the roos to roam, as well as pram-friendly tracks and lots of places to sit and rest.

At The Pouch House kids can enter via the wombat burrow-style entry, follow the Jelly Bean Joey Journey, take a photo in the pouch of a giant kangaroo and learn about how joeys grow up at Skippy’s Milk Bar.

A highlight is the stunning treehouse enclosure built for the critically endangered Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo. Yes, there’s even a kangaroo that knows how to hop up a tree!

I love learning interesting factoids about this incredible macropod. As well as the various information panels (which may be a bit hard to read when you’re chasing children around) make sure you take the opportunity to learn more about this fascinating species at the free Kangaroo Keeper Talk at 11.30am every day.
