Is your toddler bursting with energy and eager to explore the magical world of dance?
Toddler Jam is the perfect spot for your little one to unleash their creativity, express themselves, and have a blast!
As a toddler mum, an easy favourite activity has quickly become the weekly Toddler Jam classes at Footscray Community Arts.
Footscray Community Arts is a really fantastic family-friendly space by the banks of the Maribyrnong River to stop even if you’re not attending a special class there.
Every Thursday and Friday morning during school term, passionate musician and performer Razz, holds a 45 minute music and dance class in one of the large studios.
The class is lots of fun, with lots of different instruments to play – maracas, drums, spoons – as well as segments experimenting with props, voices, clapping and movement. The dance floor becomes a playground of joy as the toddlers dance with delightful props.
The best thing is that you won’t be singing nursery rhymes – the music is modern and funky, from Scissor Sisters to Daft Punk, with a range of indigenous artists including Stiff Gins.
The real magic of the class lies in the passionate and spirited instructor, Razz. Their infectious enthusiasm, goofy moves, and endless patience captivates the toddlers, making them feel comfortable and encouraged to let their imaginations run wild.
As a curious parent seeking a unique and fun-filled activity for my toddler, I was delighted to stumble upon this whimsical adventure that left us with unforgettable memories and a newfound love for music and dance. The joy of seeing the children light up as we all danced together was simply priceless.
The classes are suitable for kids aged from 9 months to 5 years old.
