Sunshine Library is one of Melbourne’s best libraries and spans two expansive floors at 301 Hampshire Road Sunshine, in the hub of Sunshine CBD.
Sunshine Library is part of the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre which incorporates offices, a customer service centre, community meeting spaces, exhibition spaces and the Sunshine Historical Society offices.
The huge library Sunshine hosts is the flagship location of the Brimbank library network.
Sunshine Library Brimbank features large double-height reading lounges, quiet study booths and rooms, computers, gaming areas and a Wi-Fi lounge. Free Wifi is available.
The Sunshine public library’s children’s area is on the first floor (accessible by stairs or lift). It has brightly coloured beanbags scattered throughout – both adult and kids sized…

If you are a Brimbank Libraries member can access the Sunshine library catalogue online to search, reserve and renew books as well as access lots of digital resources like e-books and online subscriptions.
The highlight has got to be the slide! It is part of a heated outdoor play area on the balcony with a chalkboard.
There is a small toy library inside the Brimbank library Sunshine adjoining the bookshelves. All the toys can be borrowed out (but not to be played with inside the library).
The Brimbank Civic Centre and Sunshine Library share an onsite social enterprise cafe Little Rays cafe which is open daily for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Sunshine Library opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:30am-8pm, Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 1pm-5pm. Note Sunshine Library hours are different from the opening times for Brimbank Civic Centre and other Brimbank libraries.
