Blossom Festival, Cherryhill Orchards: Spring has Sprung

Spring has sprung and you can celebrate by visiting nature’s spectacle at one of the most beautiful displays of cherry blossom Melbourne has on show at Cherryhill Orchards.

The cherry trees are blossoming and that means it’s time for the annual Cherryhill Orchards Blossom Festival that includes live music, new cherry-based drinks, giant yard games, workshops and food trucks.

To make the Cherry Blossom Festival in Melbourne even more enjoyable, Cherryhill Orchards is inviting your doggy family members to wander through the beautiful blossoms with you! It’ll also be a great opportunity to snap gorgeous photos of them (and with them!) amongst the blossoms!

Set amongst the rolling hills of the Yarra Valley this is one of the few opportunities to enjoy cherry blossom in Victoria from right up close. There’s limited seating in the grassy area where the main festival action takes place, so make sure you bring your own picnic rug.

There are several food trucks on site, but the wait can be long during peak periods, so I recommend bringing your own picnic or at least some snacks.

Make sure to save space for one of their famous soft-serve ice creams made with macerated pitted cherries mixed with vanilla ice cream. You can find them at the cafe or at the gorgeous pink and white ice cream caravan.

The kids insist on partaking in the annual cherry ice cream tradition even though we visit on a freezing day!

The orchard isn’t completely in bloom, but with a bit of judicious cropping and positioning, you can still get some beautiful shots.

Lastly, perhaps the one we’re looking forward to the most is the new hands-on workshop Sip’n Paint, hosted by Frida’s Sip n’ Paint. Surrounded by nature guests can unwind and create a masterpiece, making for a leisurely and picturesque way to enjoy the Cherry Blossom Festival in style.
