Celebrate winter in Melbourne and all things truffle at the largest truffle festival outside of Europe – Truffle Melbourne!
Truffle Melbourne is all about demystifying the truffle, making it accessible and informing people about how to source it, store it and savour it.
It’s back in 2019 with a two-day weekend festival at Queen Victoria Market on Saturday 22 June and Sunday 23 June undercover in Shed A. The Truffle Melbourne festival features the largest range of ready-to- eat truffle dishes that Melbourne has ever seen and a curated music, demonstration and entertainment program.
The free entertainment program includes mock truffle dog hunts, truffle cooking demonstrations and talks from truffle growers.
There are also over 70 events from June to September including truffle dinners and truffle hunts.
If 2018’s harvest is anything to go by, 2019’s harvest will eclipse all other harvests.
Lady AB and Baby 2.0 eat very well at the Truffle Melbourne festival!
You can enjoy truffle topped pizza, truffle-infused cheese toasties, ham cheese and truffle aioli crepes, truffle polenta fries…
….and ending with a famous (non-truffle) hot jam doughnut from the iconic American Doughnut Kitchen van.
It’s their first time eating truffles – and while they may not understand why it costs $2500 a kilo, we all savour the flavours.
As well as the weekend festival from the Truffle Melbourne pop up is selling fresh truffles and truffle products from Tuesday 21 May on market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and weekends) and the Truffle Truck serves delicious truffle dishes from breakfast until market closing time from Friday 24 May.
