HOT: The Pool, NGV Australia, Federation Square

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Pool is an immersive art and architectural installation on the ground floor of the Ian Potter Centre at National Gallery of Victoria.

The installation explores the meaning of pools in Australia’s lifestyle, landscape and cultural story-telling. Visitors are invited to dip their feet into the shallow pool – it’s more a wading pool so don’t expect an Olympic-sized 50m experience! Or you can admire the water from the surrounding the bleachers, wooden decking and deck chairs.

Make sure you take a deep breath as a scent has been especially designed to enhance the installation.

After experiencing the space around and inside the pool, visit the gallery behind the installation. The exhibition reflects on aquatic life with a social, political and cultural lens.
