The playground on the south side of Edinburgh Gardens is a real treat – for parents and kids alike!

The best thing about the Edinburgh Gardens south playground is that it is HUGE and FENCED. This is perfect for the super-energetic, run-like-the-wind Baby 2.0.

There’s so much equipment it’s hard to know where to start! The sprawling wooden fort structure features various slides including a very tall wave slide, there’s a bank of swings, a wide spider net climbing frame and sandpit.

Go around the viewing mound in the centre and there’s even more – a seesaw, gentle toddler slides, chalk boards and a merry-go-round.

It’s a very popular place for birthday parties as there are several picnic tables and a barbecue. Unfortunately, the only shade is from the trees so it can get very hot in summer. Toilets are within walking distance though you have to leave the playground to go.

Outside the playground Edinburgh Gardens offers huge expanses of grass for frolicking, an off-leash dog park, tennis courts, basketball court, sports fields, an elegant rotunda and often hosts food trucks. There’s even a second, smaller fenced playground on the north side of the park.

Edinburgh Gardens is a real mecca for inner north families but with such a unique playground it’s worth a special trip too.
