Tim Neville Arboretum is a medieval / fairy-tale themed playground that’s a popular stop for families in Ferntree Gully, especially those with toddlers.
Why? Because the entire playground is surrounded by a sturdy fence with a child-proof gate!
Inside you’ll find a distinctive Loch Ness Monster than you can climb….
….cross the drawbridge on the ‘moat’ and there are wooden towers and a castle/fortress structure for great imaginative play.

The fairy-tale theme continues with a large dragon set into the ground with colourful stepping stones.
Other equipment includes two lengthy flying foxes with disc pommel seats, numerous swings and slides, perfect for toddler height, a nest swing…
….sandpits and a balance net.
Older kids will enjoy the tall climbing pyramid but other than the flying fox most of the equipment is more suitable for younger kids.
I really like the panels with Auslan letters and words, a great opportunity to learn some letter and sign language while playing.
Outside the fenced area, the Tim Neville Arboretum boasts parkland, a duck-filled pond, amphitheatre, a secret garden and BBQs, so you can easily spend a whole day there.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”thon-hot-tips-panel”]HOT Tips:
