Slices Family Restaurant Keilor
Visiting a restaurant isn’t always a fun endeavour for families with small kids in tow. So it’s a dream come true to find a restaurant that caters well to children with energy to burn, and hungry mouths to fill.
Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Slices Keilor provides an extensive and affordable menu full of hearty Italian and Australian fare. Alongside all the much-loved pizza and pasta provisions, you can choose from burgers, seafood, steak or a six-hour braised lamb shank.
Kids meals for lunch and dinner are $12 each, and they get to choose from ten different options such as lasagne, cheesy pizza, chicken parma and calamari with chips.
With a nutella pizza twist, crepes, panna cotta and fresh daily cake selection, you will want to save room for dessert too!
An extensive drinks list is always appreciated and with boutique wines, beer, spirits and specialty cocktails, the grown-ups are well catered to – great for celebrating a special occasion.
Weekly specials include 50% off kids meals with a main meal every Monday, when dining in. Available from 12pm.
Breakfast or brunch at Slices Keilor involves a variety of tasty options with scrumptious pancakes, classic smashed avocado or the signature breakfast pizza on the menu. And for the kids, it’s scrambled eggs on toast or maple syrup pancakes which are great value at $8 each.
High chairs are available, as well as a change table for those with babies.
Team members at Slices Keilor are friendly and attentive, providing all kids with an activity sheet with colouring pencils upon arrival. Children may not want to stay in their seats for long though, when there’s an opportunity to get up and play.
And it’s all about the play!
An enclosed soft play area has climbing steps, netted tunnels and a slide, perfect for preschoolers. With a large window along one wall facing into the dining area, parents can happily watch from their seats inside the restaurant. Alternatively, there’s bench seating within the play area. Fun murals of kids’ favourite characters are scattered throughout, including Anna and Elsa, Paw Patrol and Nemo.
Kids must take their shoes off in this space and adult supervision is advised.
For the bigger kids a second enclosed playground has multiple tunnel slides of varying heights, with plenty of climbing, hiding and sliding fun to be had.
Both play areas are roofed but are open to the outdoors. This can be great to allow for fresh air flow but you may want to keep kids rugged up on cold nights.
No food or drink can be taken into the play areas.
Speakers play music from the restaurant in both play spaces which creates a nice setting, and kids can have a boogie while they get all their energy out.
A courtyard with access to both playgrounds provides a separate dining area option and can be booked for private functions.
Slices Keilor caters really well to group bookings and parties with both a private and semi-private event space available, with options ranging from 60 seated guests to 120 people standing. And with an event coordinator on the team to help out, the planning is well organised to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
If you’re having a gathering at home, work or another private venue, Slices Keilor has a catering menu full of variety. The affordable menu can be tailored to your event, and there are plenty of options for all tastes as well as dietary requirements. There’s even free delivery available for certain suburbs.
