[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Williamstown Beach is a popular beach on the west side of Port Phillip Bay for locals, but does not get as crowded by sightseers, say as Brighton Beach.
It boasts amazing sunset views and is a sheltered, shallow beach for kids to play, though sometimes unsavoury seaweed can wash far up the shore.
After an upgrade of the beach kiosk in 2016 the barefoot and relaxed The Kiosk d’Asporto opened serving southern Italian street food. It shares the same owners as Pizza d’Asporto in Yarraville and Williamstown.
Highlights are their crispy fish and chips in a cone ($10), the pizza a taglio (by the slice), Italian pastries and the gelato housed in steel pozzetti tubs and with a rotating selection of flavours ($5).

I find the gelati a little too sweet for my palate but the velvety texture melts on the tongue. And definitely no complaints from Baby 2.0!
Behind the kiosk is also toilets and change facilities.
There’s a medium-sized playground within walking distance of the beach with picnic tables and if you go a little further south you’ll hit the rock pools of Point Gellibrand and another small playground with water views along Battery Road. Further west is Jawbone Marine Sanctuary, a coastal wetland conservation area.
Williamstown Beach boasts stunning beachside sunset views of Melbourne and The Kiosk d’Asporto plus the other facilities means that it’s a place for a fun day out.
