Sunshine Leisure Centre: Stay Active & Have Fun!

Sunshine Leisure Centre is a welcoming and friendly indoor/outdoor sport and recreation facility just 15kms from Melbourne CBD and is a perfect location for fitness and fun.

Sunshine Leisure Centre has a number of fully accessible features including pools, a spa and steam room, a fully equipped gym, creche with an outdoor play area and more – but for this post, our main attraction is the Leisure Centre’s pool and aquatic facilities.

Sunshine Swimming Pool

The centre’s huge aquatic area is great for keeping fit, learning to swim, or simply having fun.

The facility offers a 25 metre, eight-lane indoor heated pool with a general play lane, a 25 metre, eight-lane outdoor heated pool with two general play lanes and a 20-metre Leisure Pool with ramp entry, stair, ladder and hoist access. The pool is often used for aqua aerobics, gentle exercise and swimming lessons so if you’re at the pool for a play or to swim laps I wouldn’t use the Leisure Pool.

Close to the Leisure Pool is a safe, enjoyable, and colourful beach entry pool with interactive water features that the kids, especially babies and toddlers, love. It includes a padded and slip-resistant tile for an accident-free space.

For more family fun in summer check out the Outdoor Splash Pad which is suitable for kids of all ages. The space’s water cannons, dump buckets, sprinklers and fountains, and padded slip-resistant flooring make it an awesome yet safe play area for kids to enjoy during hot summer days.

Sunshine Swimming Pool Classes

If you’re wanting to bring your little one to the pool to help them become more confident in and around water, check out the centre’s AquaPlay group.

This is a water-based lesson for babies between 3 and 18 months. Through this program, babies enjoy an exciting and enriching experience and develop an enjoyment and love of water from an early age.
