Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre
Located next door to the Keilor Downs Community Centre, the custom-built leisure and aquatic facility is a world-class health and wellbeing hub that spans over two levels. There’s something for all ages here!
The new aquatic facilities include a 50-metre,10-lane Olympic-sized swimming pool with an adjustable swim wall to divide it into a 25-metre pool…
…two massive water slides (only for those 120cm+ tall)…
…sloping beach entry into the toddler pool, which leads into the kids’ splash park with sprinklers, slides, a dump bucket and water features….
…plus a learn-to-swim pool, and warm water pool with sauna and steam room.
Fitness facilities include a two-level 24-hour gym and four dedicated group fitness studios for classes ranging from yoga, reformer pilates, spin cycle, body pump and zumba!Â
On top of this, there is a cozy café perfect for winding down after a good workout, multiple wet and dry change rooms (including family change rooms), and a convenient on-site crèche.
In an initiative to promote inclusivity, Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre has partnered with KultureCity to offer a top-tier Sensory-inclusive experience for guests who might feel overwhelmed and want to be free of distractions.
These guests can use the sensory room as a kind of safe zone as it is filled with sensory bags, noise-cancelling headphones, fidget tools, and more. This fantastic new certification allows the Brimbank aquatic centre to be better prepared to assist guests with sensory sensitivities and make sure they have a comfortable and accommodating experience.
For infants 3-18 months old, Brimbank Aquatic Centre offers casual AquaPlay Group classes. Held three times a week, the 30-minute sessions cost just $8.20, and allow babies and their carers to learn water safety in a fun, social, and safe environment.
Next to this Keilor Downs aquatic centre is a fenced playground (a little dated, but serviceable enough). Also, an expansive skate park, making Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre a great outdoor, as well as indoor, play destination for kids of all ages.
The Brimbank Aquatic Centre building has some cool sustainability features.
It is the first all-electric aquatic centre in Australia and this innovation will reduce the centre’s energy use by up to 65%. It is recognised for its ‘world-leading’ sustainable design by the Green Building Council of Australia.
Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre is open from Monday to Sunday, with different facilities open at different times. They are currently offering Foundation Memberships for as low as $11.70 per week. Note that if you pay for swim access that waterslides cost extra.
