We love glamping! It’s the fun of sleeping in the great outdoors with added comforts – because while my kids love the idea of camping, the whinging that accompanies hot tents, sticky sleeping bags and spiky rocks doesn’t make for much of a relaxing holiday.
Glamping also eliminates the need to set up and pack away a tent – nothing worse than doing that when you’re tired or wet.
Here are the best glamping tent accommodation Melbourne and Victoria that are suitable for families. You can choose from stylish bell tents or safari tents, or glamping pods, but they all fit 2 adults and at least 2 children. Obviously, I’ve left off Melbourne glamping locations that are ‘adults only’.
Best Glamping Victoria
1. Iluka Retreat, Mornington Peninsula
Glamping near Melbourne is a true getaway at Iluka Retreat, located on the Mornington Peninsula, close to the Shoreham township.
You can head there for a beach glamping weekend getaway, or they accept group and event bookings too.
Bell tents are set up on the 36 acre private property to overlook a wetland lake with rolling hills in the distance, and costs start at $150.
IIluka Retreat is close to local attractions including Shoreham Beach, wineries and the Peninsula Hot Springs. There is also plenty of bird watching, exploring and cooking in the camp kitchen to do at the property.

2. Balgownie Estate Winery Retreat and Vineyard, Bendigo
There’s a luxurious glamping city with 15 tents throughout the vineyard al Balgownie Estate – a mix of bell tents (sleeps 2), bell tents twin (sleeps 3) and safari tents (sleeps 4). Each has a queen bed and additional guests (where capacity allows) can sleep on a sofa bed.
The well-appointed Safari Tent includes a coffee machine, kettle, bar fridge, fluffy robes and slippers, ensuite and an outdoor bathtub.

Glamp in the Eco Retreat at Lorne Bush House Cottages & Eco Retreats for all the fun of camping, with more of the creature comforts. There’s an ensuite, kitchenette, heating, balcony with BBQ facilities and even WiFi!
You’ll be close to the Great Ocean Road, with bushwalks, sights and beaches, but there’s plenty to do at the property as well with wildlife, yabbies in the dam and a children’s adventure playground.
The Eco Retreat start at $1600 per night, and it accommodates up to 4.

4. Euroa Glamping, Balmattum
Stay on a private property 5 minutes from the heart of Euroa in luxurious glamping tents that sleep 2 or 4 people. Euroa Glamping is happy to accommodate kids, and facilities on-site include a playground.
Tents include bedding and linen, a light, cooking pans, utensils etc, a kettle, table and chairs, a fan during the warmer months and a wood heater during winter.
Costs start at $250, and optional extra packages include breakfast, special moments and spa services.

5. BIG4 Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park, Castlemaine
Stay in a luxury safari tent or bell tent at BIG4 Castlemaine.Â
A safari tent sleeps up to 6 people in total comfort, from $255 per night, and has luxury linens, mats and cushions, heating and cooling, a bathroom, kitchenette and an outdoor freestanding bathtub. You’ll be treated to lush views and lots of natural light.
Or the luxury glam camping tents, from $165 per night, are designed to fit two adults, have floor mats, linens including towels, heating and a fan, coffee making facilities and a bar fridge. And you’re treated to views over the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens and Nature Reserve from the deck.
At the holiday park there are BBQ facilities, a pizza oven, jumping pillow, shared firepit, pedal kart hire and more. Castlemaine is within driving distance of Daylesford and Bendigo.

10. BIG4 Yarra Valley Park Lane Holiday Park, Healesville
The family belle tents at BIG4 Yarra Valle are the ultimate luxury glamping Melbourne residents can travel to quickly, with two belle tents, side by side, that share a deck, and each sleeps two people.
There’s a bar fridge, television, bluetooth speaker, USB charger, comfortable beds and linen, with access to a private precinct ensuite. Accommodation for the side-by-side tents is from $224 per night.
