Learn STEM skills & have fun at TwistED Science, Moorabbin

TwistED Science is an award-winning, science-based indoor play centre that aims to help you and your children to be curious, to create, and most importantly to connect.

The interactive play space encourages hands-on participation in their jam-packed STEM play stations. Kids can build, engineer, compose and create while they make fantastic flying machines, stop motion animation videos, shoot a rocket and much more!

Twisted Science Moorabbin is the second outpost of the very popular Twisted Science Echuca.

Twisted Science

Experience a new way to play at TwistED Science as they have a no-instruction policy. This means you and your child have the freedom to discover and be as creative as you like.

All exhibits can be enjoyed at an age or ability and everyone can touch, explore, and get active with each exhibit. I see plenty of parents get involved too!

Twisted Science px

If you do get stuck or reach a point where you really need help, don’t worry! The friendly staff are there to give you a hand by providing instructions as needed.

The site is split up into three areas: Blue, Green and Tangerine, and your general admission allows you to move back of forth between zones as you wish during your 3 hour session.

Highlights include:

The bubble area for blowing giant bubbles…

…folding paper aeroplanes and shooting them through the hoops using special machines…

Twisted Science px

…building rockets and launching them…

Twisted Science px

….build and race LEGO vehicles down a track.

All ages can enter the Blue and Green zones, with a gate in between.

Tangerine is a no big kids zone as it’s a cosy and specially designed private area for pre-school children under 5.

Within the Tangerine area there is another separate area for babies and toddlers that are 2 and under.

The Snack Lab is a great place for parents to take a break or some time out and enjoy a takeaway coffee without having to worry about being so far from their kids. You can also bring your own snacks to enjoy at the tables and chairs. Most playzone areas are visible from the Snack Lab level.

And if your phone battery needs a recharge, jump on a bike and create electrical energy for your phone!

Other child-friendly facilities include a well-equipped parents room and dedicated pram parking area.

Note at the moment they do not currently have air-conditioning in the play zone – only in the cafe, shop and reception. They have big fans set up when we visit but on really hot days I recommend booking the morning session.

The space is spotless throughout, with staff resetting activities periodically. No food is allowed in the play zone, just water bottles.
