McNish Reserve Yarraville is the home of a dinosaur playground – her name is Mimi the Muttaburrasaurus!
Built by BiGfiSh Workshop in Footscray, the main dinosaur play structure is more than 3 metres tall and 6 metres wide. The space also features some dino springers and several dinosaur eggs that act as cubbies, hiding places or seats.

The dinosaur appeals to the imagination of kids of all ages but the actual dinosaur itself is more suitable for toddlers and above. It can only be accessed by a rope ladder or the footholds embedded in the dinosaur’s legs and as such, 2 year old Baby 2.0 can’t get up without assistance.
Once inside the belly of the dinosaur you can climb up to the head and roar like a dinosaur using the megaphone, or take a slippery slide out through the dinosaur’s tail!
The dinosaur is next to Yarraville Community Garden and is surrounded by parkland, so it’s a great place for a picnic and a play.
