[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you’re heading to the Yarra Valley, Yarra Glen or Healesville, then make sure you stop off at the amazing Yarra Glen Adventure Playground at McKenzie Reserve. This huge playground will knock your socks off!
The playground was built after the 2009 bushfires with the assistance of donations from Victorian, national and international organisations.
For young kids there are lots of places to climb, walk, slide and balance on the main structure. Plus a whole bank of swings, a seated merry-go-round, a partially shaded sandpit with a small rock waterfall and water play and chime poles for making music.

For older kids there is a very high pyramid climbing frame, a mega-sized springer seesaw and a big basket swing.
The landscaping has been well thought out too, with rubber mounds doubling as colourful rocks in the rock and a big metal dung beetle sculpture.
The Yarra Glen Adventure Playground is right near the main shopping and eating street in Yarra Glen (Bell Street) so you can buy supplies for a picnic lunch or grabs snacks and ice creams for a treat. We strolled up the hill for an early dinner at Hargreaves Hill after a full afternoon’s play.
The Yarra Glen Adventure Playground is a particularly good playground because it combines lots of opportunity for challenging physical activity with spaces for imaginative play. Worth a stopover if you’re in the Yarra Valley.
