SOLOMON'S COLLECTION
& FINE RUGS Moves To New Quincy Location
THE QUINCY SUN· THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2003
Solomon's Collection
& Fine Rugs, formerly located in Boston's Back Bay, recently moved
to Quincy at 809 Hancock St.
The firm features a
large collection of handmade wool and silk carpets from around the
world, and antiques. Solomon Mojtabai, a retired general and vascular
surgeon, established the company in 1987 as a result of his lifelong
passion for Oriental carpets.
Originally known as
Newbury Street Rugs, named for the Newbury Street, Boston, location,
the name was changed in 2000 to Solomon's Collection & Fine Rugs.
The new name reflect the growth of the business which by that time
had added fine antiques to the collection.
At the Quincy location are thousands of quality carpets imported from
Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Tibet, Turkey, the Caucasus and other
countries. They have been assembled in numerous designs, colors and
sizes for easy viewing.
Additional services provided include appraisals, buying and trading
of antique rugs, restoration and repair as well as professional cleaning.
At the recent official ribbon-cutting and grand opening party, guests
toured the facility and learned about rugs and the various countries
of origin.
A portion of the collection may be viewed on the Solomon's website
at www.solomonrugs.com.·
