Even Kevin Durant would admit that we’re in the closing chapter of his Hall of Fame career, but his run with Nike is potentially only beginning. We knew that in part when the Swoosh inked one of the game’s greatest scorers to a lifetime deal, but confirmation that another one of his retro models will be returning to the shelves helps solidify that news: the Nike KD 6 “All-Star” will be getting a retro in 2026.
Heads active in the 2010s will remember that this KD 6 came during a venerated run of “All-Star” Nike Basketball collections, obviously highlighted by the 2012 visitation that brought us the KD 4 “Galaxy,” LeBron 9 “Big Bang,” and Kobe 7 “Galaxy.” The models themselves still stand as among the most well-regarded in those athlete’s registers, but there’s no question that part of those shoes’ continuing cultural purchase is owed to the overall storytelling efforts that joined them together, on display with the “NOLA Gumbo League” pair in question. The translucent green outsole, dusky aesthetics and branching linework featured on this colorway speak to how Beaverton adapted the Big Easy onto that capsule.
Checking off the KD 4 was tacit confirmation enough that Nike would begin to revive Durant’s archive, but this KD 6 crystallizes that strategy further. Another beloved style of the model is also cemented for the same launch window with the KD 6 “Peanut Butter and Jelly.” As we zoom out and consider the KD retro enterprise as a whole, dipping their toe in the water of even older models with a bring-back of the KD 3 “All-Star” in 2023 could signal which silhouettes are up next.
The Nike KD 6 “All-Star” retro is queued up for Spring 2026, placing a launch sometime between January and March. Expect the same color codes of “Multi-Color/Green Glow/Black” and a $140 retail price.
